What are the coordinates and extents of the grids used in UKCP09?

It varies according to the component of UKCP09 that is used.

In detail

UKCP09 provides information from several data sources. most of which use grids with differing coordinates and extents:

  • The observed climate information and UKCP09 Weather Generator use a 5 km grid of the UK.

  • The UKCP09 storm surge height projections are produced using a 12 km grid (external website) of the waters around the UK.

  • The UKCP09 multi-level ocean projections are produced using a 12 km grid of the UK shelf seas (pdf, 120 KB).

  • The UKCP09 wave projections are produced using two grids, one of the whole Atlantic and one of the North West Europe continental shelf. Please note: the Wave projections are Not currently available.
