How is hourly Weather Generator data derived?
Hourly data is estimated at the daily level with simple disaggregation rules for generating hourly resolution data.
In detail
The rules for disaggregation of the daily data to a hourly timescale
are taken from the current climate statistics and fixed into the
future. This means that, should the statistics of the hourly climate in
the future change, this will not be reflected in the Weather Generator's hourly future sequences. This is an added limitation of the Weather Generator that should be recognised when using the future hourly data.
