Mean daily temperature

The average temperature in each 24 hour period, conventionally measured at 1.5 metres above ground level. The UKCP09 projections provide information on the 30-year average of monthly, seasonal and annual mean daily temperature.

In detail

• Mean daily temperature is one of the climate variables provided by UKCP09 over land areas, measured in degrees Celsius (°C). Maps showing projected changes in mean daily temperature are available in the Maps & key findings section for the whole of the UK, adminstrative regions and river basins.

• A complete list of climate variables for which probabilistic projections are available is given in Table 1.1 of the UKCP09 Climate change projections report, with additional information about temperature given in Box 1.2.
