UKCP09 5 km grid
The 5 km resolution grid, used by the Met Office Hadley Centre to produce gridded datasets of observed UK climate, is also used by the UKCP09 Weather Generator.
In detail
The UKCP09 5 km grid is used by the UKCP09 Weather Generator to provide a statistical expression of baseline and projected climate at daily time-scales, consistent with the UKCP09 probabilistic climate projections. It is the same 5 km grid that is used by the Met Office Hadley Centre to produce gridded observed climate (see Find out more, below) datasets for the UK.
The UKCP09 5 km grid contains only land grid squares, each of which is 5 x 5 km in size. The Weather Generator can be run for any 5 km grid square.
