Dummy data

The worked examples prepared for the launch of UKCP09 used a limited set of dummy data. 

In detail

Dummy data were a set of mock results developed because no real outputs of UKCP09 were available at the time of the worked example process. These mock results were limited in scope and were only provided for variables of temperature and precipitation, one emissions scenario and one time period. In many cases the project would have adopted a different methodology had the complete set of real data been available. 

For this reason, the worked examples should not be seen as best practice but rather seen as illustrative of how output from UKCP09 might be used.
